Adam Morgan claimed victory in Race 1 of the British Touring Car Championship’s Donington Park Grand Prix meeting at Castle Donington on Sunday, 23 August 2026. Morgan converted his pole position into a commanding lights-to-flag win, crossing the line in a time of 31 minutes 06.329 seconds. Morgan, driving his CPRL Mercedes A35 Saloon, demonstrated considerable composure throughout a race that was interrupted by two separate safety-car periods. The midfield produced a closely contested battle, with Dan Cammish and Daniel Rowbottom finishing fourth and fifth respectively, separated by just 0.475 seconds at the flag. Cammish crossed the line in 31 minutes 14.807 seconds, with Rowbottom close behind in 31 minutes 15.282 seconds. Árón Taylor-Smith followed in sixth, while Dexter Patterson and Ricky Collard completed a tightly grouped cluster in seventh and eighth, the pair covered by less than three tenths of a second. Tom Ingram rounded out the top nine, with Mikey Doble taking tenth, some six seconds further back.
The result represents a significant moment for Morgan and the CPRL operation, with a lights-to-flag victory from pole position underlining the pace and reliability of the Mercedes A35 Saloon package. That Morgan was able to manage the race’s two safety-car restarts without conceding his advantage to championship leader Ashley Sutton will only add to the significance of the win. The BTCC season continues, with the Donington Park weekend offering further opportunities for the championship contenders to shape the standings in the rounds that remain.
